Pattern Making
Once a handbag's design and dimensions are finalized, so begin the pattern making process. Every single pattern needs to be made here from the outer handbag's cover, pockets, inside lining, and all the little details that make up the bag. These patterns are used repeatedly for each bag that is made unless the design and dimensions of the bag is altered then new patterns need to be created.
Tracing and Cutting Leather
Patterns are then traced onto the leather and cut. Hand cutting leather can be costly at times due to mistakes.
Pattern Making
Patterns for the bag's inside lining also needs to be traced.
Pattern Making
Once traced, lining also needs to be cut and assembled for sewing.
Hand Hole Punching Leather
Each bag's outer cover are all hand punched for sewing. I can think of a million different things I could be doing. It's time consuming and LOUD. But who's complaining?
Assembling & Handstitching
Assembling the bag for handstitching is actually the best part of the process for me because its when the bag begin to take its shape and form. It's seeing your labor come to fruition.
Here she is, Rini, after 10 to 12 hours. As you can see, we are not kidding when we say our handbags are handmade from scratch. Our handbags are not necessarily flying off the conveyor belt by the thousands. Each bag is truly one-of-a-kind as no two stitches are the same.

Neiko handbags are really designed for those seeking something different, non-mass produced, and an appreciation for the handmade and the simplicity in design.
